I have 25 years professional experience as a musician, and am seeking opportunities in the eastern North Carolina music business, including live performance, mobile audio production, theater/show work, corporate background jazz, and whatever other avenues may be open in this area. From 1984 to 2006 I was bassist and later music director/arranger for top Cleveland party bands Special Blend and Special Effect, and was a co-founder of the Special Productions, Inc. management and booking agency in 1989.
In addition to music performance, I also own Coastal Recording, a mobile audio recording service for schools and churches, with location recording packages also available for band demos and other uses. Among my previous Ohio productions was a retrospective CD by the University of Akron Jazz Ensemble which combined new digital recordings with analog LP transfers of existing material.

I have released 4 CDs and one 45rpm single as comedy band POWER SALAD, our current "hit" is "My Cat Is Afraid of the Vacuum Cleaner" and has been aired frequently on the nationally-syndicated "Dr. Demento Show". While my partner provides lyrics and style suggestions, I write all music, handle all production, engineering and performance, playing all instruments and singing all parts on the recordings (except where other folks are applicable!). One of my Power Salad compositions was used by MTV Networks/VH-1 in an episode of their reality series "Totally Obsessed".
In addition to pop/rock/funk/swing styles for party bands, I am also a jazz bassist, and was a member of the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra. During my college and post-college years I backed up many visiting artists including Michael Brecker, Red Rodney, Dr. Billy Taylor, Clark Terry, Jiggs Whigham, Lew Soloff, and many others. Along with other musicians I provided background music for many corporate and private functions in Northeast Ohio.
